It's a challenge for Australia to achieve unprecedented feats.

The top summits have already been conquered.

This is the team that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, along with six more T20 titles, and once went nearly four years undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, those for the record chasers, are what's still available for a squad that has achieved everything.

That it took as late as Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase above 300, reclaiming their record for the largest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, honestly, a tribute to the pitchers that have sported the yellow jersey over five decades.

It's challenging for their batters to maintain a record if not afforded the chance.

In the end, the outcome of Australia conceding 330 was skipper Alyssa Healy getting a chance to create her latest masterpiece.

Initially recognized as the teenage relative of renowned former Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she first played in 2010 after her nation couldn't capture either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups from the prior year and has seen it all through 15 successful years since.

A T20 championship victory happened three months after her bow and seven international trophies have followed from 10 tries across formats.

The gritty keeper was also there in Derby in 2017 when a last-four loss by India momentarily interrupted the successful run.

That loss "motivated us to rethink our standards," Healy commented earlier.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy scored 170 against England in the championship match and was awarded tournament MVP. She ensured her country would not fail again.

The question of whether this newest brilliant performance surpassed that earlier display remains open for discussion.

Certain people claim the reasoning behind final game tension. Others can counter with the difficulty that comes when confronting a historic chase and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What is certain is this ton was much more difficult to predict.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 occurred when she topped the run-scoring charts, but this knock was preceded by six games in India over the past few weeks in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"If you've been watching me in practice sessions, it has been a disappointing period because it seemed my form was missing at all," commented Healy.

"But once you step out on the field, your competitive instincts kick in and you just lock into the match."

Healy's competitiveness has consistently been her major advantage - and a priceless quality in taking over from legendary former captain Meg Lanning.

She was troubled by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, out to the emerging pace bowler in each encounter, but this time it merely gave Healy's motivation.

A single came off Gaud's first delivery and after that Healy was on her way.

"An opportunity to take the field and face the challenge with her and simply enjoy myself in that aspect, somewhat inspired me," stated Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 pitches - her fastest at a World Cup - and her hundred in 84 deliveries while she flogged anything short, scoring 21 fours and three maximums.

By the time she was removed her side needed 66 additional runs at a run-a-ball - an unconquered height now needing a comfortable finish.

"Pursuing 330 is new territory so I'm happy we have the belief to achieve that now," continued Healy.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to do it again but, if we do, we are confident we can achieve it."

Those words will be the final thing rival teams at this tournament want to hear.

In recent days a feeling they will triumph from any situation has become more firm - this victory coming after victory over Pakistan by 107-run victory despite sitting at 76-7 at one point.

Subsequently Australia meet Bangladesh before a meeting with traditional opponents England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a last-four spot may probably be guaranteed.

During that phase they were eliminated from the previous year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - a game Healy missed because of ruptured tissue in her foot as she guided Australia for the inaugural occasion at an important competition.

So strong is her resolve, she subsequently stated she wished she had played through the pain.

But while she later admitted those physical issues have delayed plans to retire, this World Cup is likely to be her concluding event as leader in one-day cricket and she is still to achieve an international tournament as skipper.

Success in India would take her to the summit of her last major obstacle.
